Short answer
Microsoft Copilot Autopilot and Google's Gemini Spark are both always-on agents living in a productivity suite. As of October 2026, Spark is in beta for US Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and runs 24/7 in Google's cloud, while Autopilot is a Microsoft 365 teammate in private preview with no published price. Choose by the suite your company already uses.
The real question is which suite you live in
Both agents are best understood as extensions of an ecosystem. Autopilot sits in Microsoft 365, where it can be @mentioned in Teams, Outlook, chats, channels and documents. Spark sits in Google's apps, working across Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar and Drive. If your staff spend the day in one of those suites, that decides most of the choice before any feature comparison.
Where the two differ more than the logos suggest is in who they serve. Autopilot is built as a shared teammate for an organization. Spark is built as a personal agent for an individual subscriber.

Microsoft Autopilot: governance first
Microsoft's pitch is a digital teammate with a name, role and goal that watches channels, follows up on threads and resumes projects days later. Because it lives in your tenant, an IT admin can govern it like any other account, with permissions, audit and governance. That is a real strength for companies that need a paper trail.
The cost is access. Mailbox and calendar access is limited to Frontier preview tenants, and Microsoft says Autopilot uses usage-based billing in Copilot Credits. For planning, there is nothing to budget yet.
Google Spark: available now, with limits
Spark runs on Gemini 3.5 and Google's Antigravity agent harness, keeps working when your laptop is closed, can use sub-agents, acts on triggers such as a flight delay, and asks before high-stakes actions like spending money or sending email. Integrations are opt-in.
The limits are regional and organizational. It is excluded in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and Nigeria, and Google reported availability for selected business users at launch while Workspace team features remain unconfirmed. Google has not published a Spark-specific training policy; its general Gemini Apps policy allows human review unless Gemini Apps Activity is turned off.
What a small business should do this quarter
Most small businesses will not be able to join Autopilot's preview, and many are outside Spark's US-focused rollout. That is a reason to focus on the work, not the brand. Pick two or three recurring jobs, such as weekly reporting, inbox triage and appointment follow-up, and test whichever agent you can actually access.
Write down what each test saves in hours. If the agent cannot reach the channel your customers use, record that too. A tool that is brilliant inside Outlook or Gmail but invisible to a customer texting you on WhatsApp has solved only half of the problem.
How to decide
- Microsoft 365 shop with an IT owner: put Autopilot on your watch list and ask your Microsoft rep about the Frontier program.
- Google Workspace shop in the US: Spark is the one you can try now, on a personal Google AI plan.
- Neither suite, or mixed stack: consider an agent that is not tied to a suite, such as those in Claude Cowork vs Copilot Autopilot or Gemini Spark vs Claude Cowork.
Neither is confirmed to answer a business phone or work in WhatsApp. If customers reach you by call or text, you need a layer built for that.
The suite-neutral option
Oraculo works with Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, GoHighLevel, QuickBooks, Stripe, Shopify and Calendly, so it does not matter whether your company uses Microsoft or Google. It answers and places calls on your business line and takes instructions over WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack, Telegram, email or its app. With an engineer on Zoom, you connect your tools in a $499 one-time setup of four 1-hour Zoom sessions.
Pricing is hourly: Starter: $12/hour, 6 hours a week minimum, about $312/month, and Business: $8/hour, 43 hours a week minimum, about $1,500/month, calls $0.19/minute, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can book a 20-minute demo to see it work across both suites.
Key takeaway
Choose by suite and location: Autopilot for governed Microsoft 365 teams once access opens, Spark for US Google subscribers today. For calls and customer chat, look beyond both.
